1915-1919

The Welsh Cup was suspended for the duration of the First World War.

1940-1946

The Welsh Cup was suspended for the duration of the Second World War. 

1961-1971

From the 1961/62 season the Welsh Cup final was played over two legs and decided on a points basis.

In the event of a tie on points, the competition was decided by a third, play-off game.

1971-1985

From the 1971/72 season the points systems was dropped in favour of goals aggregate.

In the event of a draw, away goals counted double.

1985 onwards

From season 1985/86, the final reverted to a single game, decided by extra-time and penalties in the event of a draw.
